Capturing Joy and Connection: Damar Hamlin's Chasing M's Foundation Charity Celebrity Softball Game


In July 2023, the Chasing M’s Foundation hosted an unforgettable Charity Celebrity Softball Game! It was a day that united sports legends, community leaders, and fans for a celebration filled with joy, purpose, and powerful moments. As a volunteer photographer, I had the honor of documenting the event from start to finish, preserving the energy, emotion, and impact of the day.


Partnering with the Chasing M’s Foundation, whose mission to uplift underprivileged youth through sports and education deeply resonates with me, I set out to capture not just the highlights, but the heart of the event. From the first pitch to the final autograph, every moment told a story.


The field came alive with appearances by Damar Hamlin, Terrell Owens, Aaron Donald, and more. But the most powerful scenes happened off the diamond. There were children lighting up as they met their heroes, fans sharing laughs with players, and a community coming together through sport. It wasn’t just about the game... it was about connection, inspiration, and giving back.


Working alongside a talented team of photographers and videographers, we aimed to capture both the action and the quieter, candid moments that defined the spirit of the day. Whether it was a high-five between teammates or a shy smile during a photo op, each frame reflected the unity and generosity that made this event so special.


This game was more than an afternoon of fun. It was a celebration of compassion, resilience, and community. I’m proud to have played a small part in preserving those moments and supporting the mission of Chasing M’s. Through these images, I hope others feel inspired to continue that same spirit of giving and connection in their own communities.
